About

Esther is the owner and maker of Sowyn Skincare. She began in 2023 as a mother of two girls aged three and under. Both her and younger daughter suffer from eczema, and the search for relief has helped her realize that the skincare and household cleaning products we come into daily contact with matters.

Her background in Life Sciences and trying to get around eczema has helped her formulate skin-loving products and equipped her to be more critical about information from product ingredient lists to scientific journal articles. She firmly believes in the safe and responsible use of essential oils, which are natural yet potent and limited resources.

Esther takes conscious effort to keep waste and plastic use to a minimum from production to packaging. She also hopes to encourage sustainable lifestyle choices that reward people with healthy skin.

Her definition of "clean" is non-toxic, which includes some ingredients that are better off safely produced in a laboratory. Thus, her store carries products made with mostly natural and naturally-derived ingredients. They are sulphate and phthalate-free, and only made with natural colourants and fragrances like clays, botanicals, and essential oils.

Handcrafted in Singapore (with the exception of some shampoo and conditioner bars).
